My positionality
Leah is white, cis, female, fat, a librarian, and a Ph.D. canidate at Syracuse University. She was raised in a middle-class, midwestern household. Her body is disabled, but her disabilities are often invisible, so people cannot outwardly see unless she uses a mobility aid or discloses her disabilities, because of this she can have the privileges of passing as able-bodied, as well as the of race, sexuality/gender, education, and socioeconomic status.

The Work THat I do
My research looks at public libraries and the embodied
experiences of library staff - giving attention to supporting
library workers, systemic issues underlying library labor,
trauma-informed care, and librarianship.
I consider myself a librarian for library workers -
Library workers take care of their communities, provide
information, and support, and my community is library
workers!
